Harvard Dropout and Founder of Facebook speak at Commencement Ceremony

Harvard dropout and founder of Facebook challenged the graduating class to give purpose to others during his commencement speech at Harvard University on Thursday.

With an audience of 45,000 people, the crowd was upbeat and receptive to Mark Zuckerberg as he gave personal anecdotes to support the theme of his speech.

“One of my favorite stories is when John F. Kennedy visited the NASA space center, he saw a janitor carrying a broom and he walked over and asked what he was doing. The janitor responded: “Mr. President, I’m helping put a man on the moon,’” Zuckerberg stated.

At the conclusion of his speech, Mark Zuckerberg congratulated the graduates for their accomplishments and received a standing ovation.

After launching the popular media social platform, Facebook, in 2004, Mark Zuckerberg dropped out of Harvard University during his sophomore year to pursue the launch of his project. As he talked to the audience he gave thoughtful insight on how he views today’s generation.
